Default Shortcut for ring/vibrate swtiching

Please Login to Remove!

Upgraded from 7100 to 8830. Can't find easy way to switch phone to and from ring and vibrate right on device without going into Profiles each time.

Only option appears to be to use the one and only Convenience Key on left side of device to open up Profiles faster for making the change.

Quite frustrating each time you may not want to be disturbed in and out of meetings.

Advice?

I don't believe the newer devices have that option like the older ones. With my 8700g I could hold the Mute key and it would switch to the vibrate profile. With the 8320 it puts it in to standby. Must have been something they changed. But using a convenience key is probably the best way.

Quickly press the "F" key to pull up the profiles. I do this --

"F", "Q", "enter" one after the other without even looking. That gets you in "quite mode". You can use the first letter of any of the built-in profiles to get to that profile once you tap the "F" key.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Just make sure the Dial from Home Screen option is disabled.
