I just received a new Blackberry 8700q this afternoon. I begain charging the battery 4 hours ago. The only image that will show on my screen is an hour glass icon, on a white background. Nothing I do will change it to any other mode. What should i do?

Rob, welcome to the BBForums.

New? From a retail store, or where? If brand new, return it first chance for another.

If it's not new you can't take it back and it doesn't boot up in about 20-30 minutes then I would follow the procedure below:

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

It is brand new, fresh out of the box from a commercial sales rep from Cellular One. I think I'll just return it tomorrow and ask for a replacement. thanks for your replies.
