Default Verizon Resetting/Jivetalk?

Please Login to Remove!

I have the 8830 as of right now under trial, but I'm attracted more to the stability and faster OS on the 8703e that I noticed.

Question: Has anyone noticed any resetting issues with their 8703e while running JiveTalk? Or just simply resetting for no reason?

I wanna get the 8703e even though it's a little out of date somewhat.

No resetting issues on mine. I think I have had it happen 3 times in the six months I have owned it.

I am currently running the latest Verizon 8703e 4.2 OS and experience weird reboots while using JiveTalk in particular. Sometimes the screen will go black and the red LED will come on and then the device will return to the last state it was in, sometimes it will reboot entirely. I'm assuming it's because I'm running the OS on my Sprint 8703e. I really like the features and other than the random reboots in JiveTalk and sometimes while browsing the web, I'm cool with it. I plan to upgrade next year when my contract is up and I'll be able to get the current BB offerings at a significant discount. Unfortunately, I'll have to renew my contract.

I just was wondering because I emailed BeeJive about the problem and they said it was a 8703e device issue. I don't think I'm going to, well I guess the way to put it, downgrade. Thanks for the replies!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8703e/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I'm using OS 4.2 on my VZW 8703e and have no such issues with JiveTalk.

When did you get your 8703e?

I got my Sprint 8703e when it was first released in late September/early October. I was also beta testing JiveTalk when it was first announced on this forum and purchased a USER license as soon as it became available. I'm really leaning towards it being a 4.2 OS issue with Sprint since people on Verizon don't have any issues. I've never had any issues with it while on 4.1.

I purchased my VZW 8703e in September of '06. It was maybe 4 months later that I installed JiveTalk to this device. It worked great with 4.1 and I have not seen any decline in performance since upgrading to 4.2. This application is logged in close to 12 hours a day on the weekdays and 24 hours a day on the weekends. I use MSN, AIM and Yahoo protocols simultaneously with this application.
