I just bought a 8820 and opened it up today and it was working fine, but then a vertical line appeared on the left portion of the screen. I've tried taking the battery out, rebooting, etc, and nothing seems to make it go away. Is there something wrong with the LCD? or is a different issue?

No it is not normal and if you just purchased the device, you need to get it exchanged. Do not let your 30 days go by.

I have an 8820- there are no and have never been any vertical lines! As greggebhardt says- time to get it exchanged.
