Default Facebook for life

Please Login to Remove!

Woke up this past week to see that that damn Facebook was pushed to my 8700g (TMo). Deleted the service book, thought I was good. Life continues, and had to pull the battery to gain my space back, saw that f icon after the device was up, and I screamed in terror . Talked to TMo, they said they pushed to all and basically nothing I can do about it. I dont mind Facebook, mainly because I dont use it.

I assume I am stuck with just hiding the icon and resuming life since the app is not installed?

T-Mobile Pushed it to your phone? .. Thank sucks! ... I actually use the Facebook appication, however I would be ticked if Verizon was to push 3rd party software to my Blackberry just because.

Yeah when I first questioned them, they played the "stupid role" with me, but then the rep slipped and told me that they pushed it out. I asked why, and then I got the ol "Well I can see that it has inconvienienced you that Facebookw as pushed to your device...". Hell ya it was Might want to consider moving this to Rants and Raves mods if my attitude doesnt improve haha

Hasn't happened to me. So far I haven't noticed anyone else here and with TMO mention this.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I, too, get this service book pushed automatically if I have to resend the service books. Not a big deal for me to delete or hide the icon.

aiharkness - might be pushing out staggered.

jeremyckitching - thats what I figured the fix would be.

Like I said, it doesn't bug me any - guess I just wanted to start some crap with someone cause I woke up here in the lovely land of oz (Kansas) to a nasty little blizzard, crap

Wow! Okay. I'm disapointed in TMO.

I was thinking it could be staggered, but then I thought it would have got to me by now.

Also, deleting service books is easy enough. And maybe this isn't the facebook app? But instead just a download link? Anyway, just the same, if TMO is going to push something to me, why this? It is absolutely way up there on the scale of things *I* would never put on my blackberry.

I don't like the idea of these fsckers pushing whatever they want onto my Blackberry. What's next, advertisements? Popups of some kind?

Same here. I was wondering how that application got to my bb. I have never used facebook and don't plan on using it. I just hid the application though.

Yeah, I'd be ticked off too if Verizon did that.

I wonder if they are only pushing it to the under-35's? Only partly kidding here. They have my birthdate. They could do it, I assume. And the app is what it is.

Yes. The Handango app is very commonly pushed.
It is a Service Book - find the Service Books and delete it.

Handango, too? That's interesting..... Haven't been pushed that one, either. Not yet, anyway.

It will come back when service books are resent. Probably best to just hide it if you don't want to see it. That's what I'll do if it gets pushed to me.

FYI, i's not actually the application, just a link to the download page.

I believe this is a RIM push out, like last summer's links to Yahoo messenger and Google Talk. Usually these come when you reregister on the network, or update your handheld software.
