Default 7290 Device software error?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my 7290 from a friend...

first, i have the 377 error... tried to use Jl Cmder to wipe it according to FAQs.. didnt seem to work, maybe it did. Got AppLoader to open and work fine according the FAQs page... great.. but one problem

I got this error on the Application Loader screen...

"The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have the BlackBerry Device software for the device you have connected to your computer."

If anyone can help me with this it would be appreciated as I have no disks or instructions... just the cords... and this is my first day with a blackberry.

thank you for welcoming me to the forums... well, i gave it a try on the FAQ in the previous message.

I have not figured out how to add the os yet to the unit....

I get the 377 error if my sim card is not in the unit, but if the sim is in the BB, the App Loader freezes... I have downloaded the OS and latest Desktop Manager
