I have an 8830 and just dropped it this afternoon. As usual, the battery cover and the battery came out. But, this the trackball and the silver, plastic ring around it also came out (Merry Xmas). It looked like the tabs on the ring for the trackball were busted. I did some search through this website and saw that I can purchase the trackball assembly from cnn.cn, which is what did. However, I would like to find out how we can install the new trackball assmebly. Can anyone help?

drop trackball into hole. Snap silver ring on top of it. That's it.

Thanks. That's very helpful. I also have a Pearl that I am no longer using. So, presumably, I can take out the trackball and the ring and drop that into the 8830 in the meantime.

I liked the Pearl but it had two drawbacks: the screen was smaller than the full QWERTY keyboard BBs and the service was with Tmo. In my area Verizon and at&t have better reception. So, I got the 8830 with VZ and 8300 with at&t. My company has a corporate account, so we get good customer service with both service providers and pretty decent rates as well.

You use two Blackberry's TXBB7130? ... One Personal & One for work? ... I don't think I could manage two phones ...

really. Like which password is on which phone? which notes and numbers and the like on which phone? I would have to have both on me constantly just to make sure I didnt lose something I need.

Having one BB seems better to me!

First Happy New Year! Sorry I have not replied but I have been away for a few days. One BB is for business, the other is primarily personal, even tho b/c of coverage I end up using it for business more often than not. If I did not have the second BB, I would have a cell phone. I have found for me that it is easier to go off the same phone book, e.g. that in LN or Outlook, and import into both BB's. Also, I keep the same passwords on both devices, and use the same BB theme. So, I have found the experience to be a lot easier than a cell phone and a BB. But that's my personal preference and experience and I'm sure somebody else could say the opposite is true for them.
