Default 7100G Bluetooth headset thoughts??

Please Login to Remove!

Ok.. so I've browsed this site a lot for Bluetooth headset options and a lot of users have put their 2 cents in.. Unfortunately most of them don't talk about my phone the 7100G(which seems to get bashed here a bit). I was hoping some pros would throw me some info in regards to headsets for the 7100g. I also haven't heard much about the Bluetrek G2 Headset... It pretty cheap on Ebay... around 50 bucks.. but I don't want to be in a situation where.. "I get what I pay for"

Any thoughts on the headset mentioned above and any more headsets for the 7100g in particular.

I have not seen anyone bashing the 7100g on here at all. Most people are bashing the 7100t because of the horrible t-mobile service. I have a 7100g and love it.

So far I have only tried one bluetooth headset; Motorola 850 and absolutely HATED it. No matter what I tried I could not get it sit comfortably on either ear. If I held it in place to test it out it would echo, the person on the other end could only hear me if I were inside or in my car. Once I stepped outside they couldn't hear me and I could barely make them out.

I plan on picking up a Jabra BT250 or the BT250v; only difference is the v has vibrate when the phone rings.

I have been using the Motorola 810 for a couple of months, and I love it. My only gripe is the volume level, and I think that is the fault of the 7100g OS.

And, I have the 7100g and wouldnt trade it for nothing.

love the 7100G and love the HS 820, volume could be better, but I am going 75 down the freeway, radio at a moderate volume and I can hear everyone almost 100% at the time.

I've tested a number of headsets out recently Motorola 820, Plantronics 2500, and Jabra 250t. I found them all to work well with my 7100t (and would assume the 7100g would be ok too). I found the Plantronics and Jabra to be the most comfortable but I like the audio quality on the Jabra slightly better and it has 2 extra hours of talk time. It is bigger but the way it sits behind the ear is really nice. The Motorola 820 was very small and light, but I didn't like the way it covers the ear. I found it uncomfortable after a while.

I love my Jabra with the 7100G. Fits the best and is easy to put on with one hand while you are busy.

I have a 7100V which is the exact same unit as the 7100G and I LOVE it....as far as BT headsets....I go through them like underwear... from the Moto 850, 820, 810 the SE HBH-660 to the Jabra BT800 to the Flmaingo and finally the Bluespoon AX that I am currently using.

All I can say is that I have not foudn the perfect one yet. The Bluespoon AX is my favorite right now and what is most important for me is how I sound to my callers, and the AX has gotten the best reviews so far.

I have not tried the Jabra 250v yet and I think that its going to be the next purchase, but I really like wearing the headset on the landyard provided by Moto or Flamiongo and Bluespoon. Having the unit around my neck lessens the strain on my ear from constant wear. As stupid as that sounds its important to me.

Hope this helps

Hmm I am actually debating the Bluespoon AX or the SE HBH-662.

Does a BT headset cancel out the *terrible* background noise problem on the 7100g? I just got my 7100g last week and everything about it is GREAT as far as I'm concerned (functionality) but when I'm talking directly into the phone people complain that the background noise is louder than I am. However when I use a wired headset I don't have this problem. Any thoughts?

Jabra BT250
I have to give my opinion here. Two Thumbs down coupled with the 7100g. I was really excited to get this headset as it had a relatively non-obtrusive style (sits behind the ear) that I don't think made you look like a sci-fi freak (no offense trekki's).

I found that KEEPING it paired was difficult and its when the phone rings and you answer it expecting the headset to work but doesn't its rather frustrating. I also noticed that when it was paired that I had to keep the phone close by and definately out of the holster or else I'll get a bad humming or 'static' sound over the headset, unbearable if there is any other noise that you're trying to hear over.. I have since gone back to the chorded headset.... bluetooth just isn't quite there yet in my opinion.

Regards,

Dave
