Default Any way to disable text messaging completely?

Please Login to Remove!

I moved to a new state, got a new #, and apparently whoever had this number before me was some teenie bopper, because I get a bunch of texts from unknown people like they know me. If I reply to tell them to stop, it costs me, and they don't stop anyhow. Every incoming text costs me $$ too, so how can I just disable all text messaging? I have the unlimited data plan from Verizon, so I don't want it to affect emails, just text msg.

Thanks

Wirelessly posted (7130e: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Don't know if there's a way that you can. Have you reported the problem to Verizon so they can at least give you some kind of credit. Or perhaps changing your number might be a good idea if the amount of texts you're getting are massive.

I have managed to determine that the person that sends the most texts is some hot girl with a boyfriend who considers me "James" to be her best friend that she won't have sex with...

You can block SMS Messages by going to Options -> Security -> Firewall.

However I to have VZW and a family plan, we received a bunch of random TXT messages. If you call Customer support (*611 I think) they can disable SMS messages totally or their is a place on the VZW Website (I do not remember where but anyone at customer support should be abel to tell you) that allows you to ignore SMS/TXT messages from specific numbers.

Call your carrier and have them disable it.

you just have to change your service number in your phone under your messaging options.. if you take it to a verizon store they should be able to do... unless their reps are in the back of the store doing nothing like always!!
