First time poster, long time reader. I have just purchased some earbuds for my 8830. They plug into the USB port though, not the headphone jack. Cannot get them to work. What am I missing?

Welcome to the Forums!

Did they say they would work on a BB? I bet not. Get the kind that plug into the headphone jack.

The ones you got are USB earbuds, and the BB USB port is not a true USB port as compared to a PC or laptop USB port.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

They have headphones for the USB port? I don't think there is audio output from the USB port. You need earphones that plug in to the audio port.

Thank you. Never should have listened to the guy at the Alltel store. Going back tomorrow to get the correct headphones.

Would be kewl if it did work though, however I agree with the others, your BB does not support USB Audio.
