Default Just Purchased 8700G, Questions!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I just purchased a brand new 8700G BB for T-Mobile, and I had a few questions.

1. What programs do I need to download for the desktop, etc. (Links if possible)

2. Is it possible to take mp3's on my computer and make them ringtones on my phone?

Thanks, everyone. BlackBerry devices are amazing as far as I can tell!

Welcome to the BBForums. It is amazing.

1. One big link to our Aftermarket Software section, hundreds of programs the peruse and try. If you look there, and this 8700 section, you will also find threads of "Favorite apps..", "Must have apps...", etc.
Aftermarket Software - BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community
And, our FAQ site is always a good place to look for question:
3rd Party Application List - BlackBerryFAQ

2. Yes, also answered on the FAQ... look under Audio, and under Media.
Audacity is a great free program to use for just that purpose.

Please note that to move Ringtones from the desktop to a BlackBerry you must be running Handheld OS 4.2 or higher.

Go into Options / About on the BlackBerry to see what version you are running.

Karen, welcome to the BBForums. Please start your own thread in the future, rather than begin a NEW issue in an existing thread. Thanks.

Do this: Make sure it does not have an IT Policy on the BB... : Look at Options > Security > General Settings. at the bottom of the screen, under "services", is there anything?
