No, it's a very real issue. It is VERY hard to hear the BlackBerry 8830 in moderate noise settings. "Louder ringtones" doesn't offer much help if the problem is caused by low speaker volume, as it is in this case. As a last resort I have had to set my ring tone to the ugliest standard tone in the bunch, which imitates an old style telephone ringer. I cringe every time I hear it (if I hear it). All of my .mpg and .wav customized tones are far too soft to be of any use. And yes, that's AFTER increasing their volume to the point of distortion using the Wavepad program.
I guess the thing that bothers me the most is that BlackBerry claims to have fixed the problem, when in fact it has not been fixed at all.
