Hello everyone, I am trying to help a few people with their new BB's( 8700G) and the only input on the issue at hand is that they can see their e-mails through their BB's Outlook but are unable to open them. I understand this is probably an issue with actually how they are using the BB, but I get wanted to find out if anyone else would have any ideas on the issue. They have stated that they have not been prompted with any error message. Which supports my first idea, being that it is how they navigating through their BB.

So the user highlights the message and either presses return key or clicks wheel and selects open, and nothing happens?

I'd try pulling battery as first idea.

Could there be an issue with them not entering a password or maybe how they may have setup something by mistake? I'll be finding more about the issue once I head over to their place tomorrow.

If your in doubt whether it is a matter of opening a message to the possibility the user cannot unlock the blackberry, then anything seems possible. It's not "tell me what you are doing" but "show me what you are doing."

I forgot to ask but what will happen once I pull the Battery and put it back in? restores defaults?

Alright I have clarification on the issue. Anytime they try to view their e-mails through their web mail an expectation his thrown. It asks if is it a public or private, then states that i should try using Light and prompts me for a user and password. Below that it states that the cookies are not enable and that i am running and older version of internet explorer. I am able to login and view the e-mails through there web mail but i am unable to open the e-mail due to the thrown expectation. Can anyone guide me through how to either enable cookies , install the new version of internet explorer or any other way around this.

Pulling the battery is how a hard reset is done on a blackberry. No data will be lost. It is the first thing to try when blackberry is misbehaving. http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/1...ng_problems%3F.

Don't know about your other questions. Has the issue morphed from a blackberry to a network/webmail application question?

After sitting down and looking over the BB and the exceptions thrown. It looks I'll have to go a little digging around to find out how to update the browser and enable cookies. Thanks for the link about reseting. I think once i update the overall BB I believe the web mail issue will be fixed.

Depends. If it is still an 8700 question or even a general blackberry question, my opinion is give update and rephrase the question here in this thread. If it is a network thing, or webmail application issue, or something like that, you may not get the eyes you need here. In that case, perhaps rephrase the question in a new thread in the appropriate forum (maybe BES, for example) once you know what the question is. And be as descriptive as you can with the thread title when you do.
