Default tethered evdo, need to block incoming

Please Login to Remove!

I use a VZW 8830. I use the tethered evdo connection occassionally for brief remote work, but this weekend there's a chance I'll need it for a longer duration, maybe an hour at a time.

When I receive an incoming call, it disconnects my tether connection. Is there some way to change this so that I cannot receive incoming calls while tethered? Staying online and getting a task done is more important; I can check my voicemail afterwards.

the connection is paused not interrupted. unless its a setting within the vzaccess manager. you can also reject the calls and keep the connection.

You should be able to setup a profile with DND (Do not Disturb) set for the phone calls and that will keep them from ringing in. However, not sure if it will keep you from getting disconnected, give it a shot and see what happens.

Also, this probably should be moved to the 88xx forum as this the 83xx (curve) forum. You'd get more help over there as there's no 83xx CDMA blackberry available, and users with EVDO are much more likely to tether their devices then someone with EDGE.

The DND (Do Not Disturb) custom profile worked. Goes straight to voicemail, doesn't disrupt tethered online connectivity, and has a missed-call popup on the phone.

Thanks for moving the thread.

Go to your Profile app. Scroll down to advanced, clieck the menu button on the phone (the one to the left of the roller-ball) and choose New Profile. Configure it however you like your active profile, but select Phone and scroll down to Do Not Disturb and set it to Yes.
