Default Change unlock keystrokes?

Please Login to Remove!

I've just upgraded from a blackberry 7250, where to unlock the keypad I simply had to select 'unlock'.

Now I have to hit * and the phone button.

Anyway to change this?

Nope, that is the new and improved way.

You are not the only one to question/complain.

You can assign a password to the device to bypass the * + phone button. It is safer for you anyways if you are into mobile security.

Once we updated to the current software on our 7250s at work, that has been the biggest complaint.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to live with it! It's not that awful obviously.

Yeah, unfortunately the 8830 'helps you out' and keeps you from putting simple passwords. By the time I enter a 4-character password, and submit it I might as well just learn the new key sequence.

I'm not too worried about someone stealing it. My system admin can remotely kill the unit through the BES if I ever think I lost it. Fortunately I never had to do that with my 7250!

I have become pretty speedy at the unlock sequence ... It's similar to other phones that I have owned.
