Default Verizon 8830 GPS Question

Please Login to Remove!

I know this has been beaten to death on this and other forums but has anyone gotten the My Location feature of Google Maps to work on their 8830? I didn't think it was possible, but it started working on my phone today and would give my location within a given range. Has anyone else seen this or is it something thats common and i didn't notice before?

That's a new feature of Google Maps version 2.x

It's using cell tower triangulation to estimate your position on the map.
It's not using GPS at all.
