Hello All:

Using Sprint 8830. My caller ID (from the address book) worked perfectly for a while after getting the phone but now it rarely matches the incoming number to the address book and so it only shows the incoming number - no name. Yes all the phone numbers are in my address book.

I did a search and did some reading from other posts. I have made sure that my content is not protected. I also did a battery pull and reboot. No joy.

Any other thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Make certain your Smat Dialing is set correctly.

Try removing the battery for 10 seconds.

AND, do you have "content protection" enabled on your BB, at Options > Security?

Thanks for the replies. I have:
completely restarted several times
made sure that content compression is Enabled
made sure that content protection is Disabled
tried Include address book both on and off even though you would think it would not matter if protection is disabled
set my smart dialing options as follows:
country +1
Area code 303 (also tried no area code)
Number length 10
Use on for national dialing to NO
Not sure what else to do... again any thoughts with this mystery are appreciated.

If you have security set up on your BlackBerry and the phonebook is encrypted as well there will be no names shown with the numbers when the phone is locked.
