The BlackBerry Data Plan is a service purchased from TMo which allows you to access the internet browser on your BB, email, and complete data.

See the link which AI posted above.

Did you by the blackberry add on data plan to your voice plan, or the blackberry plan without voice?

See the link I posted above, and browse the rest of the faq.

In short, you need the data plan to have blackberry data services like browser, BIS email, and blackberry maps functionality.

So, when you click on the bb maps icon, what happens? Does it open, and then you have problems; or does it not even open? Were in cell coverage when you tried it?

Yes it opens, and i see the screen and options but nothin happens, its like the screen is grayed out. I have just been reading through the FAQ's above and it mentione WiFI, but i do not have the option on my phone for that, is that a problem? I also see in the example pics in the top right corner "Edge", i cant see this also, could this be a problem.

Really confused and i appreciate ALL your help here thanks

On your blackberry, when are trying to use bb maps, are you getting GPRS or EDGE reception?

We need to answer questions before we go on to new ones.

You need EDGE or GPRS to download the maps. And your gps needs to be able to "see" the satellites in order to get your location.
