Frien has the pearl on vzw and he has it to where his rolling ball is like a mouse for webpages ( makes it much easier on forums ). Is there a way i can do this on my 8830?

that is a function of the 4.3 OS browser. The 8830 doesnt have that. You can download Opera mini at mini.opera.com and it allows a mouse functionality

If you press the menu key while on a web page, choose Desktop View.

Not until handheld OS v4.3 is available for the 8830. No one has any firm dates.

Menu desktop view worked.....Can i control how sensative that mouse is? Is there any way for me to set desktop view as the default?

I believe the scroll sensitivity is controlled by going to Options > Screen/Keyboard. You can change the horizontal and vertical scroll speeds. This, however, is a global change and you will see the changes affect the track ball in the other areas of the BlackBerry.

LOL Needy on the boards, man I did the same thing. give the opera browser a try. I love the thing, better than the blackberry browser that has a lot of trouble if you go to a site with script, like my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers website. The Opera will show the page as it should be seen, but a zoomed out view and you can scroll around the whole page, then when you click it will zoom in to that section of the screen. it is very slick, and handles pages with code.

I am quite honestly dissappointed with the blackberry browser, it really is not good. The palm browser did more things than this one does, and with that I am shocked. BUT the opera saves the day, it will restore your browsing fun.

I even put the opera up toe to toe with someone who paid way more than me for a windows mobile 6 phone (to be honest I almost got it anyway, but the Sith Master jsanders convinced me to stick it out, I am glad he did). Anyway, ie mobile vs opera, I think other than some integration with sites that use IE code, Opera was faster, smoother and showed more sites (7 out of 10 as compared to 4) correctly than the windows version.

I like the pointer feature as well BUT it the desktop view does not optimize the page for you BB. Translation.....you will have to scroll left and right. I found the optimization and it's quirks (minus the pointer) is better. It's all preference. Good luck!
