I don't believe so.

ezrunner 01-17-2008 10:02 PM

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I could be wrong but I thought 8700 would see 4.3 then nothing after that or was it 4.2 as the last update hmmmmmm off to search

jibi 01-17-2008 10:07 PM

The 8700 will receive an update to OS 4.3.1 here shortly, although that will be the last of the major updates for it. It will not be supported for OS 4.3.2 and above, from what I've heard.

carrieb1 01-17-2008 10:20 PM

oooooooooooo Im so excited :)

JSanders 01-17-2008 10:33 PM

Bring on those screen shots.

I'll believe 4.3 on the 8700 when I see it.

That'll be awesome! I've always wanted to be able to use my BB to iron my shirts and make vegetables!!

:)

I can't really see what the 8700 series would gain. With no media player or camera the improvements would/will be minimal at best

onelove5683 01-23-2008 08:50 AM

what are you talking about no media player? it does have a media player.

btw, is this what we would need to be able to watch youtube?

BBHorrigan 01-23-2008 11:40 AM

4.3 lets you remove the IT policy!!

what else do you need!

BBAdmin 01-23-2008 12:02 PM

8700 is nearing end of life now I think (if not there already). I would be surprised to see any new developments on it at this stage.

The application Labeled "Media" is not a media player. You can play your ringtones and view pictures. That's it

ahtian928 01-24-2008 06:40 PM

I wish 4.3 ROM can support 8700 series!

Ok. My bad.

Either way, When I decided upon the 8700g, I was really banking on getting the new update. Come on RIM let's have it!@

NJBlackBerry 01-28-2008 01:23 PM

The 8700 doesn't have a microSD card. What sort of media can you load into the free space left in the 64MB inside the BB!

Jaime 01-28-2008 01:31 PM

Afaik 4.3 will be the latest OS update. I'll upgrade it to a 3g bb.

BBHorrigan 01-28-2008 02:31 PM

8700 forever! we aren't going anywhere! NEVER!

serpico007 01-28-2008 10:19 PM

Would be nice to see some screenshots. I agree after the last supported update, it will be time for a 3G BB or move to a Curve when everyone starts to dump theirs for the next new thing! :)
