After deleting the vendor.xml file I was able to upgrade my Cingular 7290 to the latest T-Mobile 18.104.22.168 upgrade. I notice the following:
-PocketDay required me to enter my register key again - no problem. Also had to reset TCP APN settings.
-Had to reinstall BBLight and reset locations in Berry 411
-Blackberry Messenger was installed and sucessfully added my girlfriend's Cingular 7290 after upgrading that to 22.214.171.124
-The problem of dropped calls has so far disappeared. I know any cell will drop but I mean when the BB would say I was connected but neither party could hear anything till disconnect.
-At first the Media Net Links gave me an error message but this was solved by a reboot.
I started this out by wanting to ask a question, which I have now forgotten. Guess middle age is approaching.
Here is a post I made that will give you a general idea. In short, it snails my BB and I get error after error.
I reinstalled PD and let the BB come back up. I then removed the battery to get a fresh start. When I clicked on the PD button on my home screen I immediately got the access to phone log question. I selected yes and it took about 4 min to get to the PD screen but the BB is unresponsive. After about 3 more minutes my screen is blank except for the words PocketDay in the most upper left hand corner.
Couple of minutes later and I got the wanting a connection inside and outside the firewall message. I clicked ok and again the unit is unresponsive. I can now see the PD application behind the stuck message. It is 10:01 MTN.
10:07 and my BB is still unresponsive and still have the inside/outside firewall message with PD in the background. I will pul the battery and reboot cuz I have a meeting I need to get to.... I'm 7 min late...
Looks like my problem with PD is only when it has to read or write from the OS.
I patiently waited to get in and turned everything off. So now it doesn't display weather, stocks etc... I can now go in and out of PD ok, however, if I exit the application and relaunch it I get the message that it's trying to access my phone logs, i click yes and it's about 10 munutes till my BB is usable again. Same if I go into the settings, I can go in and out of the settings normally but if I make a change and try and save it then it's about 10 minutes until I can use my BB again.
I did have to reset TCP settings so perhaps this might solve your weather and stock issue; however, that still does not resolve the time delays you are experiencing. I use PD 2.17 and except for resetting the registration key and TCP settings everything works fine.
