You may need to wipe the device with the javaloader.exe and do a clean install of the OS. Search the forum for javaloader or javaloader.exe it's been posted a few times with instructions how to execute.

We've had strange problems with 7230's until we upgraded to the 4.0.0.188 code.

IT will not work because your software is not operating usb wipe works only if the os is working,

a trick i know since i work at rim is that take the battery out, then plug the usb cord into the unit, once you have done that put the battery back in and open your desktop manager and click on application loader once you have done that select detect communication port and click next it will find the software and reload it back on for you

Did you install the Desktop Manager? This will install a USB driver so that your PC can detect it?

i get this alot too, you have to unplug the usb cord and take out the battery, now when you plug in the usb cord right after put the battery in and select usb-pin unknown right after this should work keep on doing this process til you get to the next screen

Default Thank You....

I had the same problems and with all your guys help and knowledge I got mine up and running again. I tried loading a jad into it, it didn't like.
By the way, how do I make an alx file out of jad and jar files??

I had tried it to do that awhile ago with little success.

ya, popping the battery in and out and getting the "usb-pin unknown" works. once you see "usb-pin unknown" quickly press next to continue with the application loader.

Instructions:

Lay down your 7230 on the ground
Load your 12 guage
pump it
aim it at 7230
look away
pull the trigger
7230 is definitely dead.

Turn on your computer
Get on internet
Open www.fusewireless.com
order 7290

Live happily after ever..

Did anyone reccomend for you to call your Carrier support team? They may be able to solve your problem without waiting for a reply, and you may have a warranty or replacement options (which are usually cost effective!)

Did you follow the advice of other posts in this thread? This is a year old thread. A little more detail of your problem would be helpful.
