I'm a 5 days in from the purchase of my first blackberry so forgive me if I ask a dumb question. I'm trying to get Windows Live Messenger setup, if I follow the instructions on the blackberry website I have to download from my blackberry 8820 from the link Instant Messaging, designed exclusively for BlackBerry

Using my wifi connection and the default browser configuration set to wifi browser. I follow the URL and select windows live messenger, and I get a page that titled incorrect browser and "Windows Live Messenger Notice".

With a statement that says "This webpage uses activeX controls that work only in Internet Explorer. To ensure that windows live messenger is correctly downloaded to your blackberry, this site is not designed to work with any other internet browsers. If you cannot use internet explorer, you may be able to download the software directly to your blackberry smartphone."

Can anyone shed any light as to what this problem is and how I can resolve it?

I seem to have the same problem with my new BB8800.

Using the "t-zones" web-browser from t-mobile.

it's a network carrier thing. Sprint and some others dont support Messenger from MSN

Finally my t-zones browser is showing the mobile.blackberry.com page properly and without an "incompatible browser" message.

However, upon trying to download Windows Live I get an exception error - which t-mobile BB support group are looking into (with whom I have no faith at all).
