I finnaly got my email setup with my AT&T 8820 (on rogers networks). Everythings works correctly except from the blackberry maps. The gps works fine but there is no maps appering.

I can surf the net via wi-fi but cannot get the maps to appears. Even google maps, everytime I click on icon, the bb freeze and I have to pull out the battery

Regarding blackberry maps, do you have a blackberry data plan?

Also there's a long thread here on the forum on what you can and can't do with wifi. You google answer may be there.

Also, for third party apps that require data (not blackberry data) you will need to set the apn in options. See blackberryfaq.com.

GoogleMaps and BBMaps both require a BB dataplan. Gets very expensive for those of you who cannot get unlimited data. A standalone GPS device is probably better.

As previously stated, you need a BB plan for map data. GPS is free and paid for by US tax dollars.

TO get the GPS data, you need to be outside with a clear view of the sky. It can take 10-15 minutes to locate the sats, particularly if this is the first time. The device has to download the ephemeris tables so it knows where the sats are and where to look at any given time and location. For a shorter fix time, use BBMaps or GoogleMaps and locate yourself as close as possible.
