SMS and Email alert too short

Can anyone explain how to have the SMS and email notification play a longer alert. If you put a ringtone as an alert it only plays a second or two and then stops. What is the limit, any ideas?

Change it from 2 or 3 beeps to one, and see if the ringtone plays longer.

Change from 2 to 1 and then 3, no luck same problem, cuts it off...

Change the ringtone to something that plays longer. I use one for SMS that plays 1 minute. That should fix your problem.

have one thats a minute long and it still only plays the first 1 or 2 seconds like an alert....does the name have anything to do with it, does it need to be named alert or ringtone?

Is the file UNDER 512kb in size, and less than 30 seconds in length? It should be. If not, no go. check the FAQ.

Don't mean to hijack the thread I just don't want to spam the forum with my new threads and keep related items in one... in terms of alerts... is there a way to make the screen light up when a message (txt or whatever) is received?

JSanders 01-27-2008 10:36 PM

No.

And that is perfect example of thread hijacking, and it is not highly valued around here.
