So I received a new 8830 after my original one crashed and never turned back on once I tried to download the newest software version. The new one they sent has lasted about 8 days before it pretty much stopped working. Today I try to use my phone and typically push the power button to turn the screen off. I did this and 10 seconds later the screen came back on all by itself. I took the battery out and it is still doing it. I have also checked all the backlight settings and everything is still the same so it isn't something there. Has anyone experienced this?

Have you installed any 3rd party software?

No I haven't installed everything. Haven't had a chance to. All I did was use the Switch Device wizard to swap everything over to this 8 days ago and all of a sudden today it started doing it. I spent 8 hours on the phone today with BB tech support and they told me it was water damage. I took it to a service center and they told me they couldn't figure it out.

*EDIT* I figured out what was doing it. My blackberry is decided that it wanted to open up and start programs on its own which I saw a thread about earlier. Turns out it decided to open up Sprint Navagation, accept the disclaimer, and run the program to the point where the screen stayed on; which is the setting I have on there. Once I closed it, it stayed off. I am swapping this phone out tomorrow after fighting with Sprint all day.
