Default 7130c question

Please Login to Remove!

The company I work for gave me a BB 7130c. I would like to reset it and re set up service locally. Do I need to reset it and how? I have heard on forms that I need to reset the unlocking code, is this what I need to do to rest the unit?

I am completely lost someone please advise me what I need to do so I can use this free unit that was given to me.

Thanks,

Dll

First, make sure the party that gave it to you calls their carrier and tell them to release the PIN of that BlackBerry from their account.

Next, if you want to use it on a carrier on which it is not branded for, you will need to unlock it:

Then, you will need to establilsh service with your carrier and get a BlackBerry Data Plan from them.

You may wish to reload the OS fresh, etc., also.

I don't know who gave your the BB. That owner needs to make sure it has been removed from whatever carrier service he/she had it connected to.

Otherwise, when you go to put it on a carrier, you will get a message that the PIN has already been registered.

Although you already have the BB... these tips still apply.

Default Could I not just get a new sim card?

Now I know why the company said I can have it! The company said that eventually if I wanted to use it I would need to buy it from them. So really it is only good for a PDA.

Could I not get a new sim card, and have it unlocked that way? or is the PIN enbeded into the hardware of the phone itself. I had a co-worker take his sim card out of his phone and it worked in my phone. How is that.
