BlackBerry 8800,
when I try to view my shorts cuts and press in my tracking ball a screen to search for numbers shows up with a "U" in it, if i press the back key next to the tracking ball a "hl" shows up. It will not let me type in numbers and dial only letters appear. when I try to select other options by pressing in the tracking ball it will not work and i have to use the enter key.

Does your BB have moisture/liquid damage?

Have you tried a battery pull to see if it clears?
