Default Newbie Has Question on Browser

Please Login to Remove!

Hello - I am on the verge of making the investment in the Blackberry 8830 and am wondering how good the browser is on the device. Are you able to see all pages without problems? I have used Palm Pilots in the past and the browsers were terrible and I wasn't able to browse many pages.

Depends on what you mean by problems. Best bet is to try sites that you intend to visit on the device itself. Your carrier should have a trial period for you to test things out and allow you to return it if you're not happy with it. Web sites don't render on small device screens like they do on your PC if that's what you're expecting.

Ditto takeshi.

It depends on one's expectations. The bb browser is a mobile browser. It doesn't display a site the way it would necessarily appear on a desktop/laptop, and some sites will take forever to load, or not load at all. But, more and more sites are providing mobile versions and will even redirect to the mobile page.

And there is opera mini, which many people like and believe does a better job rendering web pages. And there are options such as skweezer and the similar mobilizing features available from other portal/search sites.

If you want full browsing capability with no fuss or muss, you'll be disappointed.
