Default changing default area code

Please Login to Remove!

question of the day. I am working abroad and have changed out my SIM chip for a local number. How do i change the phone so that it does nto automatically add my old zip code to every number it dials? this is extremely frustrating as all of my contacts have been saved on teh SIM chip in 7 number format so if i dial them by selecting thier name, i dial that number in the USA. amy help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Go into the phone area (press the Green send button) from there click the wheel and choose "options". Under "Smart Dialing" you can set your default area code and country code. At least on my 7100g.

Something else you should do is convert all your entries to 10-digit numbers. If you will be travelling a lot you won't have this pain.

Some metro areas are so dense now they require 10-digit dialing anyway.

In my profession, I'm so used to dialing outside my area code I just do local numbers 10-digit out of habit.
