You must have your same handheld operating system loaded to your PC as is on your BlackBerry, when you attempt to load other applications. The handheld OS on your PC must match the handheld OS on your BlackBerry, or you will be asked to upgrade to the OS installed to your PC.

Actually, that's not true. I don't have the handheld OS loaded on my PC and I can add apps to my 8820 without any problems. I only have the desktop software installed.

Corey, we are talking about languages here. My post mentioned applications, I meant languages, but it applies either way.

EDIT.,.. OK, DM version 4.3 doesn't require the OS for applications, but it still would for the languages to be loaded.

What version of DM are you using, Corey?

Many devices need the OS installed to the PC along with DM so as to update the loader.exe to a version compatible with their OS/device as what was included with that particular version of DM isn't compatible. Some devices may not need this in order to load applications but many do.

In this case the OS is required to install any other languages or anything that's included in the OS installation package. For other languages you'll need to make sure that the OS you download and install includes the languages you are looking for.

I'm using 4.3. That makes sense about the languages.
