Default Getting Free 7100g

I am getting a free BB 7100g, I currently have a Ericsson t637 GSM. Will I be able to just pop in the SIM and go? I understand I will need a BB data plan if I would like to email remotely with ther "push" technology, but as is, will I be able to sync with PC calendar, contacts, and Outlook without the data plan? I will use it, if I can, write emails on the road , sync, and send while populating contacts and calendar changes back and forth.

emails won't synchronize. i believe you can do wired synchronizations of the rest, though.

I just did the exact same thing, went from a Sony T-637 to a 7100g...for syncing, email wont be syned using the cable, but the rest will.

AZF100, do you miss anything from your ericsson t637? Or are you happy with your switch, and if you have a second, what are your pros and cons to the switch?
