Default 3.8 Rocks!!!

For the 7100t, it's the greatest. It's unbelievable that RIM/T-Mobile actually develop "upgrades" for this phone that are really downgrades.

I think it's just code bloat, 7100t is the first attempt to make it more "fun" instead of all business like, so they are trying to jam it with every request they get to please us demanding users

After all, how many people get comments on how a BlackBerry can't do what all the latest and greatest features that a normal mobile phone can do today?

Yea 3.8 is great just hate its sometimes looses the signal and does not reaquire it until you turn the wireless on and off.

I've had the same experience. Signal problems that I didn't have before.

Received my 7100t last week which came with OS 4.0 installed. Several callers complained about static, so I downgraded using the guide posted on BBForums to OS 3.8.

I immediately noticed two improvements:
1. My callers hear less static
2. Earpiece volume is significantly louder - now it's like a normal phone. Under 4.0, the earpiece volume was too low.

RIM, hopefully you are reading the BBForums. You know it's a wake up call when a good chunk of your 7100 customers (and probably the majority of the savvy ones) are DOWNGRADING their phone OS.

Your customers are anxiously awaiting an OS that fixes all the significant problems that have been voiced in these forums (at least those that are amenable to a software solution). Until then, I cannot recommend this phone to anyone but the more technically inclined consumers who really need to have the latest gadgets and are willing to hang on the bleeding edge.

I have never lost a signal with 3.8. I really don't know what you are all talking about. With 3.8, the phone is perfect. No static and great volume. No problems whatsoever. 4.0 was just horrible. Bad volume and the static made the phone unusable.

Mine's been alright, but it's infurating how fickle the antenna is. If i'm on a call I can walk through my house just fine, if I sit downstairs? if its on my hip,it holds a signal, if its on the desk? signal. If it's in my lap? "Searching..." Mhm. Stellar. Otherwise, no coplmains. Work w/ em all day with my job and sell 'em to boot .

i live in downtown Atlanta and sometimes it will be searching for a netowork for 5-10 minutes. I can reboot it, it doesnt matter. It doesnt happen often, but when it does, it sucks waiting for it to aquire a signal.
