OS upgrades MUST match the model of the phone. They are model specific.

8700 gets ONLY the 8700 OS.

8707 gets ONLY the 8707 OS.

What is your BB model?

What do you mean by "see it as 8700 and loading 8700 software". Your Desktop Manager will only load to your BB what you put on the PC for it to load.

Did you download the 8700 OS?

I don't know english very well and I can't explain it clearly.

This is not my first BlackBerry and I have some knowledge about 8707 and 8700.
Actually I have two 8707 and one 8700. I have problem only in one 8707.
I connect it to computer and want to upgrade software then phone is upgrade with 8700 software. I have installed 8700 & 8707 software, when I uninstalled 8700 software and try again to upgrade this bad 8707 there was an error "there is no software for your device" so I think problem is like in title of this post - 8707 is recognize as 8700.

Well, the bottom line is this, delete all the 8700 software off the PC and retry it.

Look in this folder on your PC:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files

In that folder you will the various versions of OS you have loaded. Deleted the entire folders for all versions, and start again. Reboot your PC. Confirm those OS folders are gone.

Then if you wish to upgrade the 8707 OS , use the link and instructions at the top of this forum section for the 8707.

In another computer I installed Desktop Manager (for the first time in this computer) and only software for 8707 and when I try to upgrade there is a message "there is no software for your device".

In my opinion Desktop Software & computer & software & others are OK.
My 8707 is not OK.

I want to know how I can force Desktop Manager to load 8707 software instead 8700 software?

What is your 8707 branded carrier?
What EXACT OS did you install to your PC?
Did you delete the vedorl.xml file from the PC before running the Desktop Manager?

make sure you delete the vendor file.

If the OS is identical to the one you have loaded, it will not prompt you for an upgrade. Click on App Loader and find the OS alx file.
