Just bought myself a Motorola HS850, my first bluetooth headset. Sounds pretty great and the convenience of having a wireless headset. I've just had it with the traditional OEM headset that came with the unit.

How's the volume with the 850? I have the 810 and it's pretty good in most situations but it is a little low sometimes when I'm outside or in a noisy area.
Works is a matter of opinion. You will find many incompatibilities between various headsets and handsets. While they are all supposed to be made to the same standard, in practice there are enough differences to cause problems. In general the HS850 has not fared very well among those that have tested it including me.
