Default 7100t taking a long time...

Please Login to Remove!

Hello-

Well I went out and got my 7100t today. I called my local T-Mo store, and they had three in stock. Drove 30 minutes to get there, and they had just sold the last one. Another T-Mo store had it, so I went there.

So far I like it - but I can't get the browser or IM apps to work. At first it said GPRS wasn't working, which was due to me not having a BlackBerry plan. So I called up, got it switched over, worked fine to setup email, etc. Now when I try to access the browser or IM apps, it sends and receives GPRS data, then says "Unable to connect, try again later." I called T-Mo, got transferred to a Wireless data specialist, then to a BlackBerry specialist, and was told it takes up to 48 hours to provision.

Did you fellow 7100t users have to wait that long?

Thanks.

TM

# 1 & #2 can be obtained at http://www.t-mobileapps.com/download...m?selDevice=11

# 3 login is at https://webclient.blackberry.net/Web...w.jsp?site=tmo

This worked great. Within 1-2 hours of receiving my 7100t, everything was functional. (I did request the BB data plan before receiving my BB.) I am PocketPC owner who is very happy with this first BB.

The best surprise was finding the free 411 application and installing it. The app allows you to find business and indvidual addresses/phone numbers with only a couple clicks and results sorted by distance from your home or work. Most usable app I have seen in a long time (very cool). You can call the person/business with one more click or get driving directions.

I sometimes get the time-out error message you are talking about, and found that if I turn off wireless and turn it back on, then it works.

I'd like to send a new service book, but there's no such item under 'options' in BWC for me. However, there IS an option under 'profile' to send a "web client service book" - it doesn't call it an internet browser service book. Does your specifically say this? If so, do you have other service books you are able to pick?

Does the 411 application work well on the 7100? Any issues?

The 411 application works great on the 7100t. I've used 411 many times in the last few days to look up business addresses and phone numbers (restaurant phone number, police department for non-emergency call, etc). You can search by business name or type and results are sorted by distance to your location (select from home, work, and other address which are entered initially). Further, you can call the person/business or get directions with another click.

I've used PocketPCs, Palms and not a BB, and this is the most useful, best integrated mobile application I have used.

hello,

can someone help me? I am a newbie...just got my 7100t a few days back.

when I try to type 'http://www.mapquest.com/pda/directions.adp' on my PDA, I just get the 'Maquest banner' and a blank page...the whole page is blank. What is the best way to see driving directions? It should be fairly quick and easy to comprehend.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks
