Default keyboard locks w/o having locked keyboard

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched all over. I just received my new 8700c. After about 5 mins of inactivity the phone will not respond to key strokes. It will respond to the shortcut keys on either the left or right side of the phone.

The only way I can bring the keyboard back is to remove the battery and reset.

The keyboard lock is not on. If I turn it on then I can't turn it off without rebooting.

Should I return the phone?

Welcome to the BBF.

That is not a normal function. Is it asking for a password?

Was it new as in "new" from a retailer or was it used?

It is not asking for a password. And as far as I can tell it is new.

Well you probably answered the question without knowing it... You are on a BES, and very very likely there is an IT Policy pushed to the BB to lock the device and ask for a password, although I know you are saying it does not.

Look at Options > Security > General Settings > scroll to the bottom. What is listed under Services?

It has my "personal" email desktop service there. Although I don't have that turned on. (on mypc). I'm waiting for corporate to set me up on their network bbs.
