Default Need Help - dirt & debris under the screen

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

This is my first post, I hope it's in the right place.

I have a 7100g and I have looked all over to find a way to clean dirt or debris from under the screen (even searched these forums prior to posting). It looks like I have some perspriration or some type of murky stain under my screen. I can't figure out how to remove the front cover to get in there and clean it though. Does anyone have any insight they can provide to clean stuff that gets under the screen?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Keep in mind that if you remove the casing, you void your warranty - just be clean about the removal and do not add any sort of cuts or stress marks to the phone or screws and you will be good.

There's a few screws (I can count 2, but there seemed like there were more from recollection) and atleast 4-6 plastic latches on the sides. Just treat this like any other plastic device that latches together. There are some pictures of a 7100t taken apart from about 10 months ago, so have a look at those as well (you'll have to search for them).

After you get it apart, you should be able to just clean the backside of the screen with ease. Be careful pulling the two case pieces from each other and make sure you get an idea of where everything needs to go so you won't have issues putting it back together.

yeah but unless you do all this in a dust free room (which is nearly impossible unless you have access to a "clean" room at a tech firm), you can be sure to have dust under your screen when you put it all together.

good luck
