Default Voice Dialing interferes with Jawbone headset

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Sprint 8830. I recently purchased a Jawbone Headset. When I end a phone call, voice dialing activates.

Is there a way to disable voice dialing? Has anyone else run into this problem?

My Jawbone works great with my 8830 I have not had this issue! Keep in mind that thee is no "beep" or indication it has ended the call on a Jawbone, I had to get used to that. So don't press the button more that once.

Jawbone and 8830 on sprint here and I dont have that issue at all.. Try to un pair them then repair them but make sure to reset the jawbone by holding down the noise cancelation button until it flashes red.

I also have this problem. You have to get used to trusting that when the other person ends the call, it's over. Maybe keep your eye on your BB for a while to get used to what you (don't) hear when the call ends, when you actually see that the BB has disconnected from the call. And also take note of when you would normally press the button on the Jawbone while you're looking at the BB and you'll see that your button press is not actually registering until after the call ends, and then the BB treats it like you're activating voice dialing...

Bottom line - you don't need to do anything at the end of the call...

If you do get voice dialing - learn to issue the "status" command. It's qiuck and easy, and gets the voice dial on its way instead of nagging you for a command...

Agreed. My 8830 (Bell Mobility) does not have this issue.

In addition to above, I would check to see that you have the latest OS on your device.

I have the same issue. If you hang up first, no problem. If they hang up first...."Say a command..."

Default 8830 Sprint with Jawbone?

One the Jawbone website the following is advised:

"The Bluetooth technology in Jawbone is designed to work seamlessly with any Bluetooth compliant handset. However, not all Bluetooth is created equal - certain CDMA phones (like Sprint or Verizon) can under perform compared to GSM phones (like Cingular or T-Mobile). While Jawbone works well with most CDMA phones, a few may have issues with call quality and/or audio switching between the handset and the Jawbone"

I have an 8830 through Sprint and would like to get a Jawbone but wonder if any 8830 Sprint users are having performance problems.

Thanks for taking the time to reply
