Default 8800 kills nearly every Message :-( Please help!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a Blackberry 8800 and it behaves very strange:

It deletes nearly every single Message on the device during an unexplored time cycle (I hope you understand my english)

I don't have any option activated for automatic deletion so I can't explain it.
It's strange because 3-5 messages stay on the device with unspecified date.

I never had some problems with my 8700 and I love the blackberry plattform, so what's that on my 8800?

It now happened 3-4 times during 3-4 months and I'm VERY unhappy with this failure!

I bought an old 8700 as Backup and as soon as it arrives I will send in my Blackberry for service.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

please go into options > status and post your file free
after you do please follow Managing your BB Memory - Lost Call Logs and SMS that thread and then afterwards, do a battery pull with the device on, wait 30 seconds, put the battery back in. when the device powers back up go to options > status > file free and repost it here

Hi,

thanks for the tip. I only deleted:
- sample video
- call logs
- browser cache
- browser history

The languages were already deleted.

Before I had 12MB free, now I have 22MB free.

I did not perform the hardreset (wipe handheld), I just pulled the battery as described.

Now my baby should run as it was supposed to?!

Ive previous tried to give numbers on how much avalible memory you should have, but I agree with the statement that if the phone works fine, you can be as low as you want.

Do some testing and come back to tell us how is went please

I find it very quiet in the German Blackberry Forum (not a native German).

if cleaning up resolved the issue I believe there is no need for service..
by saying "do some testing" I mean use it for some days, see if messages still gets "killed"
