Angry Newbie Question on Security - Help!!

Please Login to Remove!

I need to disable the Password in the Security settings. Having to type in a password each time I need to use my 7100 is driving me nuts... If this issue has been addressed before please just point me in the right direction and excuse my taking the bandwidth for the question. Thanks...

If your company is setting the password through an IT Policy on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, only they can disable it. You can't disable it if it is being set via a policy.

Settings => Options => Security
[change password from Enabled to Disabled.]
[set Lock Handheld Upon Holstering to No]
If you are unable to do the above, then your security policy will need to be changed to allow it.

Angry BlackBerry Security Problem

I am not under BES control. This a new 7100t and it is very frustrating not to be able to Disable the Password.

Is it new to you or BRAND NEW. Because it sounds to me like it has an IT Policy on it, perhaps from a previous owner, that mandates a password.

Talking Resolution, Sort Of

Well after spending over 2 hours on the phone with T-Mobile Tech Support and RIM Tech Support they both drew a blank. They had never seen a phone that was brand new out of the box do something like this. I was fortunate that the T-Moble store where I bought the 7100t replaced the phone - T-Mobile really ticked me off when they said that they could not warrant that the local store would do the replacement. I had to get them to note the Tech Support Case Number in my account records to get the new phone. Anyway, the phone now works like it is supposed to work...
