Default DATA off while roaming?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7290 with Rogers here in Canada.
I'm heading to the USA in 5 days.

is there any way I can turn the data off while roaming?
ie: no email pushed to the 7290 while I'm away? I want the phone portion to work, just not the data.

I'm trying to keep the bill under control for the week.

I searched the forums, and the 7290's user manual and didn't see it.

Thanks.

Look in Options >Network and see if that option for Data Services is in there. Some versions of the 4.1 OS code had it and some didn't.

Thanks John.

4.1 version 377 for Rogers does not have it. I remember seeing it once, about 6 months ago. But I've flashed the code 3 or 4 times and back again in that time...

I guess the other way of doing it is to remove 3 of the 4 email accounts before I go to the USA Thursday, then just add them back in when I get back to Canada.

Yeah, I used to know which versions had it but it's been too long now. You could always go upgrade your device!

I'd love to, but I've only had the 7290 for 10 months.

TheWife would have a hissyfit if I bought an 8310 or 8320.

But I would LOVE it.

I'll just log into BlackBerry Internet Service and nuke 3 of the accounts for a week. Or make the passwords wrong for a week...that would keep my filters intact.

I can always turn them back on from the 7290 if required.

The 7290 is a bullet proof device....just a little shy on the options.

I have 4.1.0.309 on a 7290 right here and it has the data services on/off/off when roaming option in network. This feature turns off ALL data, though.

John:
Thanks again, you're a wealth of knowledge.
I appreciate it.

You're right about the 7290. Built tough. Nothing to really break on it at all, no camera etc.
