2 random questions (menu icons + clearing SMSs)

hey guys,

so i'm pretty new to this so please take it on a n00b, and not WTLW me.

i have 2 things that are sorta kinda bothering me with my 8700c.

1. i'd like an easy way to delete ALL my SMSs instead of deleting them individually.

2. there are icon in the main menu that i do not use, nor do i see myself using in the future; namely "PTT" and "Cingular Browser." does anyone know how i can delete these?

1.) You can press and hold Shift and highlight multiple messages at a time or goto a dateline and hit Menu>Delete Prior

2.) Just open your application list and highlight an icon you don't want to see and press menu>Hide

Good Luck!

oh sweet. thanks.

FYI, you need to to do alt-click to bring up the hide option.

If you want just the SMS messages, you might be able to go into your Messages and hold down the ALT/shift key and press S. That might give just your SMS messages.

If it does, press T go to the top of the list, click the wheel and click Delete Prior. Then press the Escape button (under the wheel) to view all your messages again.

so that alt key acts like the shift key in windows? is that a safe assumption?

Yes...like the shift key on your PC keyboard. Or for using some keyboard shortcuts. Like ALT-O for all outgoing messages, or ALT-I for all incoming, or ALT-P for all phone calls.....etc etc.
