Default A bit of a practical question (firmware)

Please Login to Remove!

I see all the updates to the firmware. My 8830 is fairly recent, and my inclination is to just leave it alone. Is there any real advantage to going to all the work of upgrading the firmware? I'm not having any problems.

Thanks
Chuck

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

There aren't really any major enhancements in any of the other software versions.

There is the possiblility of something going wrong that outweighs any gain in upgrading the software until something come out worth the risk.

I hear rumors that there will be a OS upgrade sometime in the future, but until then, just enjoy!

Is that a SS396 Chevel on your avatar?

It is. That is my '67 SS427. I am a Moderator on chevelles.com. I'm not too literate on BBs but ask me anything about Chevelles, LOL. You can see why I am so grateful for the advise. Being a Mod is a lot of work, folks. These people are saints!

Thanks for all the support.

What are you talking about? It does not 'mess up' the GPS.

My GPS no more works with google maps or bbmaps most of time. When it does, it takes forever to update location first time. It maybe problem with my phone but it started after upgrade. It was working great before. Anyway to downgrade?

I was hoping it would fix call waiting options and call waiting caller ID. It didn't and now GPS is gone too. With my luck, I may have kissed goodbye to GPS when decided to upgrade.
