Default Just got my new 8800, but how do I....

Please Login to Remove!

Just got my new 8800 however it has IT policy restrictions hence annoying 20 minute password nause. I know this can be overridden but don't think it wise at present. However, I can't access the Internet either, (don't know why as my works PC has permissions) can this be enabled and if so how?

Thanks & excellent forum.

Eric

welcome to the forums. are you on a BES? if you are on a corporate system and they have a BES you cannot get past the IT policy.

A couple of clarification questions for you:

1. Is this a "new to you" BB that is actually used with some other company's IT policy restrictions, or are the policy restrictions those of your company?

2. Are you on BIS or BES? Do you have a Blackberry data plan?

3. Who is your carrier? Your profile is obviously incorrect in that regard.

if it is your companies IT policy there is no way around it. even trying to get around it can put your job in jeopardy. they can limit or disable ANYTHING they want on the device. if you want to use the device other than the policy allows i suggest getting in contact with your IT department.

Yes, make the IT guys your best friends, both to find out what you can and cannot do but also to maybe get any special privileges that they can dole out.
