Default big problem with 8700

Please Login to Remove!

hi I have the 8700 from t-mobile, when I put in the battery the trackball starts to turn and after 10-15 seconds it restarts and so on all the time.
I tried connecting it to my computer to wipe it, but it restarts before my PC has the time to detect the the blackberry is connected to it.
if anyone could help me I would appriciate it.

Is this a brand new unit or used?

Try to reload the firmware using the loader.exe with the /nojvm switch.
On Windows, press "Start" and select "Run". Enter cmd and press "OK". Type in the following commands and press enter after each line
cd\
cd program files
cd common files
cd research in motion
cd apploader
loader.exe /nojvm

When the window opens, press "Next". Remove the battery from your BB. Reconnect the USB cable to your BB, reinsert the battery and while the red LED is on press "Next" in the window. This should allow you to reload the firmware, but all data on the device will be lost. As timing is very important in this process, it might be necessary to repeat the steps multiple times prior to getting a successfull connection.

P.S.: I am assuming you have already installed required firmware package for your BB to your PC.
