Default Backlight/Messages question

Hi everyone.

I'm new the forum, and to Blackberry's - so this site is a great tool for me at the moment!

When i get a msg or calender event alert, the screen doesn't light up - i have to scroll to turn it on. Is there anyway i can set it up for the screen to light up when a msg is received or a calender event pops up?

Any help would be great.

Many thanks
pearshaker
