Default Gemalto Oberthur causing me to lose my mind

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently using a BB 8703e with Sprint as my provider. I work for the government so we have to use the BB smart card readers for encrypting and decrypting messages.

My problem is that we use 4 different types, that I know of anyways, of "smart" cards. To my knowledge we use Oberthur, Gemalto, Axalto, and another one which I can't remember at the moment. The Axalto and the one I can't remember at the moment, work fine with the readers. The readers are able to import the certs and sign and encrypt messages like normal. The Gemalto and Oberthur cards on the other hand are the victims of a known issue having to do with the reader not being able to read them due to a software bug. The exact error reads: "Error communicating with the smart card." It gives that error every damn time I try to import the card certs to the BB but as soon as I stick one of the other two types of cards in it, it works fine. The issue is a known one within the ARMY/DOD and there is a site with a patch that supposedly works, but of course, the site sucks and the patch that I need, the 4.1 patch, on the site (https://www.dodpke.com/jad) is screwed up and the webmaster seems to not have a damn clue as to what is going on.

My question is, does anyone here have any experience with this problem at all and if you do, how in the hell did you fix it?

Thanks in advance.
