8830 Ringer Fix????

Default 8830 Ringer Fix????

Has anyone released a real fix for the low ringer volume on the 8830. I've boosted MP3 volumes and have everything maxed in the phone. I read that it's only using one speaker of the two in the phone. Has VZW or Blackberry released anything as a real fix?

I don't think there is an official fix yet. I have seen several threads on this but I don't think it is officially fixed.

Though I will note that the ticket does not say "low volume" it says "no difference in volume level".

I don't think RIM is ever going to admit that there is a ringer volume problem with the 8830 (see separate posts in related forums). The referenced Technical Support Ticket indicates that the problem was "fixed" with a new software update, which I installed and which of course did not fix the problem. It doesn't help that people post messages with simple instructions on how to increase the ring volume on the phone...DUH. This is a real problem that I don't believe RIM wants to own up to. Just my opinion after struggling with this for many months now...

Ringer is very loud on mine, I never miss calls or messages of any type due to low volume. I use some stock and some downloaded rings.

I think this mainly affects Verizon 8830s, though I am not 100% sure.

There are downloads available, listed in another thread with the same topic. It absolutely fixes it if you download one of the LOUD ring tones.

Just an fyi, that ticket doesn't pertain to the low ringer volume on it's high setting. It refers to an issue where changing the volume in a profile to high doesn't actually change the volume from low or medium, i.e., low, medium and high settings all were the same volume.

I still haven't seen a ticket from RIM or any carrier that addresses the issue that even on it's high setting, the volume is just not loud enough.

Two different issues....

It's an issue with the 8830. It should have a fix. Not work arounds. It's my only problem with this otherwise great phone.
