Default Upgraded to 8820 - 1 question

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all - I just upgraded from a Gen1 Pearl to an 8820. I'm loving the 8820 so far, but have a quick question:

On the Pearl, I could hold down the # key to switch to/from vibrate mode and the *key to lock the keypad. I've been through the help docs on the 8820 and can't find any equivalent shortcuts - am I just missing something?

Thanks!
-Erik

unfortunately, the 8820 does not include that feature. I miss it too.

if you want to switch modes-hit "f" and change from there.
to lock the screen hit "k"

Forgive me for being obtuse, but when when I hit either of those, the phone assumes that I'm starting to dial a phone number. If held down, they launch the Speed dial dialogue.

You need to go to the phone, hit menu, go to options, select general options, and change dial from home-screen to no. Then you will have a lot of shortcuts that will work from the home screen.

I was just about to ask this same question! The search button is my friend, it saved me from starting a new thread! Is there any other way to do the profile change without having to disable the dialing from home option or using the only convenience key?
